Farmer support

Agro-Insight produces multi-language, farmer-to-farmer training videos that are suitable for large-scale dissemination. Examples include "Save more, Grow more, Earn more" video made for CIMMYT that was screened to over a 100,000 people across southern Bangladesh by the Agricultural Advisory Society (AAS). AAS also distributed a few thousand DVDs to over 300 local service providers. By the end of 2015, more than 300,000 farmers in Bangladesh had seen the videos through organised or spontaneous video shows, and an estimated 30 million farmers through broadcasts by the Bangladesh National Television (BTV). So far, adoption studies have revealed that over 41,000 new farmers in southern Bangladesh have started making use of small-scale and appropriate agricultural machinery. In India, Green TV aired the Hindi version of the video reaching out to over 100 million people.

Also the recent series of ten videos on "Fighting Striga", which has been translated into more than 20 African languages. Across Africa, some 50,000 multi-language DVDs have been distributed as part of a wider communication and rural learning strategy. Another example is the "Rice Advice" videos, which have been used by over a thousand organisations to train farmers.
