Paul Van Mele studied Tropical Agriculture at the University of Ghent, Belgium and obtained his PhD from Wageningen University. Since 1993 he has managed agricultural R&D projects in Africa, South and South-East Asia with an emphasis on sustainable agriculture and farmer training. Paul has published widely, and enhanced impact on rural communities through farmer training videos and networking. In 2010 he swapped his research management position in the CGIAR to start with his wife Marcella their own enterprise, Agro-Insight. In 2012, he co-founded the international NGO Access Agriculture. | |
Marcella Vrolijks has a Masters in Arts from the Arts Academy in Hasselt, Belgium with a focus on graphic design. She further specialised in video production. Marcella has been engaged in farmer-to-farmer video production and training of local professionals. For the past twenty years she has lived and worked in West Africa, Bangladesh and South-East Asia. | |
Jeffery Bentley is an agricultural anthropologist with a PhD from the University of Arizona. He has worked in development since 1983, largely in Latin America and Africa. Jeff specialises in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), applied research and training, and documenting farmers' knowledge and innovations. He has a solid publication record, is an experienced editor, and teaches courses on technical writing, e.g. through writeshops. | |
Eric Boa studied plant sciences and has a PhD from the University of Leeds. His broad and varied development career began in 1981 in Bangladesh. Eric has worked in agriculture, forestry and natural resource management in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. He was the founder and director of the Global Plant Clinic until 2010. His current work focuses on farmer support, advisory services and extension methods. He designs and teaches courses for agriculturists at all levels. Eric has published extensively. |
